History

El Mayor Restaurant was born in 2008 as a gastronomic-cultural space that offers our guests a place to eat and enjoy the best of Mexico.

Our commitment is to offer dishes and beverages representative of the different states of the republic, with excellent quality, price and the greatest care of hygiene. Among our suppliers are established and recognized businesses, but we also look for organic products, as well as working with farmers and insect and seed collectors.

The food at El Mayor rescues our culinary heritage that is passed from generation to generation. Both the mayoras and the chefs who work with us prepare the dishes under the gastronomic mixture of the different periods of our magical Mexico: the pre-Hispanic, the colonial and the independent.

At El Mayor, magic is always present. Our terrace is the best viewpoint to contemplate the different epochs that our country went through and is going through. The Templo Mayor, the Cathedral, the Zócalo or the Casa del Marqués del Apartado are some of the visual attractions distinguished from the facilities. A terrace that shows a Mexico that is always alive and in constant movement.

To be on our terrace is to be transported back in time. The endemic vegetation blends with the ceramic and wooden floor, while the furniture made by Mexican artisans, under the design of architect Oscar Hagerman, coexists hand in hand with a mural of Mexican motifs, this time courtesy of the artist Popolvuh, but which -like the place itself- is in constant movement and always gives room to new Mexican painters.

El Mayor Restaurant also has a bar area, whose style is more modern, and where our guests can wait, enjoy an appetizer or have a drink while they reach their table.

Mission:

To offer our customers an exceptional Mexican gastronomic experience, through a very good service, high quality food and a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. To know and live Mexico through our hand.
